Our Students

The NCBJ IChTJ school brings together PhD students from all around the world, creating a vibrant and diverse environment. Our students come from many countries, including Italy, Spain, Kenya, Cameroon, Mexico, Lebanon, India, Switzerland, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Iran, Germany, China, France, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Morocco, and of course Poland, representing a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. NCBJ offers free Polish language courses to international students, helping them immerse themselves in the local culture.

Our students travel extensively. During the past couple of years they have participated in over 100 research visits, conferences, and workshops, with many trips funded by prestigious programs such as the NAWA STER program, as well as other research institutions like CERN and the Fulbright Foundation. They take part in international workshops and conferences, delivering talks and presenting posters. Research carried out by our students, usually in collaboration with supervisors and research teams both in Poland and abroad, leads to numerous publications in leading international journals in their fields. Some of our students have won competitions for research grants such as Preludium (offered by the National Science Centre) or Perły Nauki.

Students are provided with workspaces in close proximity to each other, promoting collaboration and interaction. Beyond academic activities, the school encourages integration through regular social events, including group outings for pizza and annual celebrations such as Christmas parties.
