Program

Our students are involved with research in their chosen area from the start, but are obliged to attend some lecture courses and seminars chosen together with their supervisors. Some of these courses may be taken at the University of Warsaw or other institutions in the Warsaw area. The students are also obliged to take part in the graduate student seminar.

Information about courses available at the University of Warsaw can be accessed via USOS. Graduate-level courses are usually in English.

Each term there are courses/tutorials intended needed to fulfil the requirements of the 8th Level of the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area. These courses (4 hours per week) review the basic subjects for a given field. In Physics these are: classical mechanics, classical electrodynamics, quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics. Attendance is not required, but it is recommended that at least those who need some revision should attend. Everyone has to take the exam at the end of each of the first four terms.
